Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” – John 21:22 NIV
You will never truly know what God can and will do in your life…until you have the patience and faith to find out.
I applaud the many that take the leap of faith to allow God to move and work wonders through their lives. How many of us have the faith to submit totally to God and His will? How many people can place one foot in front of the other, not knowing, understanding or seeing the complete path, but trusting that it will lead to total victory.
I ask myself these questions every day, especially when I see people putting their everything on the line, not knowing where that line may lead, or if there will be intense struggles along the way.
I think of the passage where Jesus called Matthew, who was sitting at his tax collection table, going through I’m sure his daily routine, and through faith AND obedience got up and left it all to follow Christ. He followed not truly knowing the entire path, or the trials that it would lead to, but just obediently followed. Wooooowwwww….!
I have a group of people I work with that through their selflessness and faith are giving their all to see others helped. No promise of great honors to come. No accolades at the end of the day. Nope, usually only struggles and hardships in the service they have taken up. There’s many difficulties they face and at times very few answers, but all the while they continue to obediently follow God. They keep in their mind the TRUEST reward that gives them strength at that is our Lord’s command to love God and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. The reward that there is no earthly treasure that can compare to the reward being stored and waiting for them in the words “Well done good and faithful servant”. Just seeing them is an inspiration and testimony to God’s greatness and the greatness He in turns places in us…but the choice is still ours on whether we allow that greatness to shine through.
So as I find myself sometimes caught up in the mundane matters of this life, or find my faith taking a slide off course, I remember all the many examples, past, present and I’m quite sure future, of great men and woman God and our Lord Jesus continue to use.
God speed the day when we will all stand together as one united Body…the Body and Bride of our Lord and almighty God.
Be Forever Blessed!
