“No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.” – John 15:13 Amplified
No words can properly express or capture the great tragedy and loss of life that occurred yesterday, Sunday June 30th, 2013.
19 brave men and women presented their lives as a living sacrifice to protect their fellow man. They diligently trained and worked each day at honing their skills to better serve those around them. In doing so they were able to leave the world a little brighter than the day before.
The following is just a very small exemplification of what those 19 firefighters lives’ will forever mean in the hearts and memories of so many;
“A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.” – By Charles Spurgeon
Their love for us will forever be carved into the hearts of many. Aside from all the day to day tragedies that we become numb to let us remember those that no matter what willingly, AND eagerly devoted their lives to honoring and truly loving their fellow man in this life and unto the next.
Included along with these 19 are the countless thousands as well that have passed on as our Service Men and Women to this country, both at home and abroad.
And let us not forget but remember in prayer those they leave behind each day who are part of their journeys. Prayers to our Father for their Strength when there is none, Courage when all seems lost, and Comfort when all comfort seems far off leaving nothing but silence. In praying for them let us then in turn honor those that readily gave all that they had that we might live.
Be Forever Blessed,
